C9 Development 7 v 4 C9 Reserves

A hard fought win for the C9 Development team, as they beat the C9 Reserves in today's friendly.

The Development team started off on the front foot. After some nice work, a gap opened up inside the box and Danny Martin finding James Davie, he took the opportunity with aplomb to place the ball past the scrambling keeper within the 1st minute. 1:0

Two minutes later, and James Davie picked up the ball after a great through-ball from Scott Brown and hit a crisp strike straight into the back of the net. 2:0

With 15 minutes on the clock, C9 Reserves took advantage of a defensive error to score a nicely taken goal. Lewis McParlane finding the net at the second time of asking. 2:1

3 minutes later and the Development team extended their lead again, Martin Banks leapt above the defenders and netted after a great delivery from a corner by John Connolly. 3:1

It had been coming. After a sustained period of pressure, C9 Reserves scored a well deserved goal. The ball drops to Kris Livingstone at the edge of the box perfectly for the strike. A wicked deflection off Derek Tyson see's the ball loop over Chris Anderson in the goal. 3:2


After some nice work by C9 Development, a gap opened up outside the box and Danny Martin took the opportunity to rifle the ball past the scrambling keeper. 4:2

Kevin Paton anticipated the cross from John Connolly well and met the ball with a firm header to score for C9 Development. Another set piece goal. 5:2

After some nice work by C9 Development, a gap opened up outside the box and Kevin Paton took the opportunity to raise the ball over Liam Marshall in the Reserve's goal. 6:2

Disappointment was in the air for C9 Development, but C9 Reserves were happy with this one, capitalising on a well worked opening, they took full advantage with a lobbed effort of their own, this time Cory Maxwell lifting over the on rushing Chris Anderson. 6:3

71 minutes played as James Davie picked up the ball from Kevin Paton and curled a sweet strike past the C9 Reserves goalkeeper. The keeper had no chance. 7:3

In the last 5 minutes there was a penalty awarded to the C9 Reserves. After some excellent play, a ball in was adjudged to hit struck Martin Banks' hand. David Turriff stepped up, and seemingly scuffed his shot, for it to find its way just inside the post. 7:4
