Pounds To Pitches

We are absolutely delighted to announce we are partnering up with Pounds To Pitches!

‘P2P’ are a non-profit club, set up to provide a safe space for men to utilise football as a means to get fitter and healthier. Akin to our own mission, improving overall wellness, ‘P2P’ offers this in a competitive way, as each team battles it out in a league format.

As a partner, we will be on hand to provide mental health support, signposting where required, for those participating within this setup.

The Events…

Tesco Bags of Help

Last night we received correspondence from the Groundwork UK team, who run the Bags of Help scheme with Tesco. They have advised that the blue tokens will be removed from stores due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This will help prevent physical contact points for staff and customers a like within the stores, a means to help prevent spreading any cases within the stores. This is a decision we support.

We have also been advised, that the 3 charities/groups will receive a third of the grant available, and will be awarded up to £1,166 (depending on the amount applied for). As we had applied for the max £2,000, we will be receiving this full amount of £1,166.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has kindly shown support for us, and popped tokens in for us. We would also like to thank Tesco & Groundwork UK for this amazing amount, which will help us continue our work within our communities.

Wharton Sponsorship

We are delighted to announce that for the forthcoming season, the C9 Foundation will be the proud sponsor of our Ambassador Bryan Wharton’s kits.

Bryan is the Club captain at Albion Rovers, and has recently came on board as our first ever Charity Ambassador.

We are delighted to have this in place, and hope to continually grow a great relationship with Bryan. Please check out his guest appearance on the Lower League Football Show podcast with Mark Pirie, discussing Mental Health within the game - LISTEN
