Badminton 🏸

Back to the badminton courts, it’s been a minute!

Still one of our most favoured nights, badminton had been missed from our schedule recently. A great work out, and always a fun night, we finished this session off with a trip to the steam room and sauna to relax after some hard fought games.

Driving Range β›³

A welcome return to the driving range, this is one of our best sessions for continued talk / support throughout.

All abilities are welcome along, and it is great to see our beginners coming on well and improving on their golf.

Bowling 🎳

Something different again for a Friday night session as we went to the 10 pin bowling.

A couple of strikes, plenty of gutterballs πŸ˜… and, as always, the chance to get out with a supportive group, talk about whatever is needed, and have some fun!

Football ⚽

A return to our regular 5-a-Sides and a return to football in the rain ⚽🌧️

we welcomed along another couple of new faces, as our #C9Community Continues to Grow.

Following the game, we had a walk & Talk to cool down and talk about anything that was bothering us.

Football

Something a little different as we took our fortnightly 5-a-sides to 7s, and we certainly felt it (see the last πŸ“ΈπŸ˜…).

Football has been a huge draw to what we do here, and is always the first session we see new faces come along to.

The game went well and set us up for two hours worth of mental health conversations after.

Hamilton v Raith

Something different today as we made our way along to the Fountain Of Youth Stadium to watch Hamilton Academical take on Raith Rovers in the Cinch Championship.

Nothing better than taking in a game in the sun, having a chat, and getting things off your chest.

Unfortunately, it was not the result Hamilton were looking for as they went down 2-0 to Raith on the day.

We would like to thank Gillian and the team at Hamilton for their kind hospitality.

Football

That was a hot one! πŸ₯΅β˜€οΈ

Another fantastic turn out for football, with the 29Β° temperature not deterring anyone. Another couple of new faces joining and already feeling comfortable to share their stories and reasons why they have came along.

The session was followed by a walk and talk, acting as a nice cool down from the game, but also allowing the conversations to continue.

Football

What a night! Our sessions are there to provide us with something to look forward to. A night of physical activity with mental health support, the sports side helps break the ice and allows anyone in attendance the freedom to open up for support or advice.

Following one of the best games of 5s we have had (we even had to go to pens!), addiction was the topic of choice as we shared some personal experiences and were able to ask questions to learn more about this topic.

Badminton

Another brilliant session at the Sir Matt Busby Complex for some Friday night badminton. A great way to end any week with some physical activity, and of course, some good conversation and mental health support where required. Badminton is a LOT more physical than we gave it credit for before our first session, and the boys certainly worked up a sweat a you may see from the photos below…

Football

An ever popular session, this one was no different. These games have a competitive side to them, but the main aim and focus is on having fun, and everyone plays with a smile on their face. All abilities welcomed, the session is to give those in attendance a hour out of their head by getting some fresh air and physical activity.

β€œAlways a positive experience away from the stress of everyday life.”
— James

Our sessions always finish with a chance to sit down and chat.

Basketball

Our second night at basketball, and what a workout that was. Shooting competitions and 1v1s whilst rotating to keep us all fresh. Following this, we ended up in the health suite and enjoying the sauna, steam room and even the hot beds to relax and enjoy some healthy conversation.

Badminton

Our first night at badminton was a great success, enjoyed by all in attendance, regardless of ability. We mixed it up with singles and doubles matches, with lots of great conversations happening courtside also.
