Grounding Techniques

Grounding is a type of coping strategy designed to connect you to the present moment quickly. These are often used for anxiety attacks, PTSD flashbacks etc.

This works by simply using your 5 senses of sound, sight, touch, taste and smell, to connect you to the here and now.

Techniques can differ from person to person, and you will need to do some trial and error. What may work for you, may actually increase anxiety within another.
