T - Talk.

Talking is vitally important. It is the first stage of working towards managing poor Mental Health. If you are struggling to get the words out, try writing your feelings and thoughts down first. If you feel someone is struggling, ask how they are doing, and after they say “fine”, ask again.

A - Ask for support.

Reach out. We are one of many charities that are here to help if you feel you have no one in your life you want to reach out to. Support is available! We are happy to contact those you may feel need a little help.

C - Care for yourself and others.

Self care plays a huge part in keeping above the poor Mental Health. Always make time for your hobbies, or even trying new things. Sometimes you may not feel up to it, if you can, try and commit, it may provide the release you are looking for. Caring for others is a beautiful thing. It can bring a feel good factor back to you knowing that you have been of help to someone.

K - Keep a routine.

Structure is good. It allows us to keep ourselves busy, and our mind focused on the task. Life has a way of disrupting these, in both good and bad ways. These may throw us briefly, but it is important to confirm the new routine to get back on track.

L - Limit access to news / social media.

Both can be damaging in large doses. News is mainly negative stories which can impact us by having our thoughts on a negative track. The flip side of this, social media can be largely false, with most only interested in showing the good, or “bigging up” to show they live a perfect life. This can be hard to read when you are in a bad place, and lead to questioning why you can’t have the same things, or that lifestyle. Limit these, and enjoy the good in YOUR life.

E - Exercise both physically & mentally.

Going out for a run, or even a walk, is a great way to get out of your head, and just as good for your body overall. There are many ways to enjoy physical exercise, and to push ourselves in a physical capacity. Make sure you are also doing the same for your Mental Health. Problem solving and being creative are two great ways to do this.
